How To Get Rid Of Those Last Few Pounds….

May 2nd, 2007

Stefanie Asked:

Stubborn fat

“I am in pretty good shape, but I still have about 8 lbs of fat that
just won’t come off - especially around the waist, unattractive
back-fat and thighs. I do an intense cardio work-out 3 times a week
(usually 40 minutes of swimming, biking or running) and do a weight
workout 2ce a week.

I don’t have that much time to work out, so I was wondering what the
single best thing I can do to get rid of that fat. Is it increasing
the intensity of the cardio, length of it or adding more workouts to
the week? I want my flat bikini tummy back for the summer! Love your
blog and would really like to pick your brain on this one!”

Fitness Controversy - Diet vs. Exercise for Weight Loss

February 6th, 2007

I was just reading the blog of a mentor of mine, fitness expert and bodybuilder Tom Venuto. Tom is the author of the book “Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle” which I personally regard as the bible of how to eat properly in order to effectively lose weight and keep it off.

Tom has commented on the new controversy stating that diet is just as effective for weight loss as exercise. However, Tom, and I as well, do NOT agree that it is the most effective means of keeping weight off in the long term. For lasting results exercise and proper nutrition combined are always the most effective method.
